Darren DeGraaf, CFA, CPA, MBA, MAFM, PRM
Darren is a CFA Level I Virtual Classroom Instructor and Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of British Columbia (UBC), boasting an impressive list of titles including CFA, CPA, MBA, MAFM, and PRM. A Lower Mainland native, Darren attended the University of British Columbia to study business and commerce with a focus on finance.
Currently teaching more than 1,000 students, he is expertly gifted in demystifying accounting and financial concepts, making complex ideas easily understood, and integrating ideas into his conversations and lectures to ensure his students have a memorable, meaningful education.
He has worked for over 20 years in accounting and finance industries, and he has taught at almost 10 different institutions. Notable achievements include his work at HSBC to roll out a credit scoring model, a project that allowed him to apply all he learned in school and at the CFA program to find the right variables, as well as his extensive teaching career.
With his deep knowledge of CFA, ethics and financial education, along with his unbridled passion for teaching and connecting people, Darren brings an incredibly invaluable asset to our organization.
